Imaging the Possibilities – Capture Imaging Solutions
|
Capture Imaging Solutions, winner of the New Business Award at the 2006 Grampian Awards for Business Enterprise, is unfalteringly proud to provide a quality product and service to its customers. And the business, set up by Robbie Cheyne and Colin Yule in October 2005, has more to be proud of than most. The first year of trading saw an impressive string of achievements - the New Business Award was not the only accolade that came the way of Robbie and Colin in the opening twelve months. It was, however, very much the catalyst for the successes to come.
While Capture set out to achieve a first-year turnover of £1m and gradually grow their team to six staff, it would be fair to say that these goals were comfortably surpassed. End of year figures showed a turnover of £1.5m and recent recruitment has brought the size of the team up to twelve.
Capture has the distribution rights to supply the award-winning Konica Minolta brand and was recently named Top New Dealer by the award-winning supplier. In fact, they were ranked second out of all suppliers north of Manchester for sales and revenue, and seventh out of all 160 UK-wide.
The Grampian Awards, which took place 8 June 2006 at the Ardoe House Hotel, were significant in that they took Capture to the next stage of their business development - thus opening up a more lucrative level of potential clients.
Colin Yule said: “Winning the New Business Award really cemented what we were doing at the time, and added to our credibility. This heightened our profile and in part enabled us to move forward and win larger contracts. In fact, Enterprise North East Trust took a major contract of 9 machines with us, which showed that they were true to their word and do believe in Capture Imaging Solutions.
“To be recognised by the local business community and also nationally in our industry so quickly is phenomenal. We fully intend to build on our early success through sustained organic growth and our planned apprentice programme.”
Robbie feels that the latter is significant step for the company and in-keeping with their local ethos: “We believe that we can offer an attractive prospect to local men or women of a school-leaving age. A career with an Aberdeen business currently enjoying exceptional growth should be an attractive prospect and we look forward to developing young workers into fully-qualified technicians.”
Colin said: “We believe the north east of Scotland has a lot to offer in terms of enterprise and it’s an honour to be recognised as part of the area’s success. Our staff fully deserved to be recognised for their efforts and we were delighted to be able to dedicate the prize money to staff development and team building. ”
